Formoterol is a beta-2 receptor antagonist used to treat COPD and asthma. Formoterol works by helping the muscles around the airways in your lungs to relax.
Fluticasone propionate/formoterol fumarate is used
The fluticasone propionate/formoterol fumarate combination is used to treat asthma. It is used every day to prevent asthma attacks, but it is not used when severe shortness of breath attacks occur.
Do not take fluticasone propionate/formoterol fumarate
· If you are allergic to the active ingredients or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Warnings and precautions:
Tell your doctor about all your health conditions, including, if you have:
· If you suffer from heart problems.
· If you suffer from high blood pressure.
· If you suffer from diabetes or have high blood sugar.
· If you suffer from thyroid problems.
· If you suffer from adrenal gland problems.
· If you suffer from liver problems.
· If you have a problem with your immune system.
· If you suffer from eye problems such as glaucoma or increased pressure in your eye.
· If you have any type of viral, bacterial, fungal or parasitic infection.
· If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or breastfeeding.
Hold the inhaler upright. Shake the inhaler and prime it by spraying a few doses into the air. Gently exhale away from the inhaler, then place the mouthpiece between the teeth without biting and forming a good seal with your lips. Breathe slowly and at the same time press firmly on the canister to release the dose. Hold your breath for 5-10 seconds or as long as comfortable. While holding the breath, remove the inhaler from the mouth. Gently exhale away from the inhaler. If you need to repeat the dose, repeat the steps above. Replace the cover once complete.
How to take fluticasone propionate/formoterol fumarate:
· This property is intended for adults and children aged 5 years and over.
· Use this drug as ordered by your doctor.
· Use this drug by inhalation only.
· It is not used when acute episodes of shortness of breath occur.
· The usual recommended dose is two sprays twice a day, in the morning and evening.
